LOCAL: Yesterday I went to a rural area to fly a farm and find a dog that ran off during the July 4th fireworks. The sky dumped buckets on the farm, limbs fell from trees in some strong gusts as a powerful stormfront moved through. Hail fell; lightning was cracked the sky open like a 10-cent egg. A lot of that noise going on this week.
I flew in Somerset, PA at a 260-acre property nestled in the Laurel Highlands over the holiday weekend. Glamping with fam in a cozy two-room cabin. Nothing but trees and mist on the hills and hollows.
I visited the Flight 93 Memorial on July 5th. Somber, explorative, somewhat chilling. The aeolian chimes nearby, The Tower of Voices, were quiet. There was hardly a breeze blowing. The parking lot at the memorial was full.

I saw a couple of snakes on the GAP trail in Meyersburg.
I spotted a flower new to me at Laurel Hills State Park, a scarlet beebalm on a bike ride later in the day.

DRONE: Going back to hobby craft soon, one day, when Ricardo Montalbán hands me a Mimosa and says ‘Welcome to Fantasy Island’. Buying some tools, supplies?
Russia hit Kiev with crazy barrages of drones, so Ukraine attacked Russia’s Black Sea fleet with long-range drones. Russia, go home! Korea opts out of Apache helicopters, betting on drones and AI – The Korea Times. ROI. Cheap missiles and drones vs. hulking steel targets.
Drone shows: Cocoa Beach, FL., Oregon coast town hosts its first drone firework show (WATCH) – oregonlive.com. Dozens of cities and towns. Individual pilots are priced out of swarms. Individual pilots are priced out of industrial drones. I can’t even buy a Matrice, let alone a swarm and pay a tech for set-up, tear-down and troubleshooting.
SCIENCE: Anyons primer from 2023. Anyons understanding today: [2409.08685] Time-domain braiding of anyons.
