LOCAL: Nothing is happening here. You would expect that in a place with a population of around 2,000 people. If you were to overfly this town, you might think this place really had a housing construction boom …90 years ago. Quiet nights. Chickens crowing. Crickets and starlings, the perfume of thistles and sweet honeysuckle. And sewage backing up in the basement and everyone sick all week. Housing market is unbueno. Just like every year. Splitting headache, nausea, good times.

I am volunteering at this festival in Pittsburgh on Saturday, the 4th. Festival of Combustion — Rivers of Steel Should be a blast!

Rain poured in through my roof last Friday and damaged an unvarnished painting of Brownsville at night. I repainted much of it, and I should be able to complete this painting in a few days. “Light Up Night”, oil on canvas.
