Annual kayak race on the Monongahela River. It’s about 13 miles long, and gives participants a different perspective of the Mon River valley. This is a shot of the start of the race in Brownsville, PA. It finishes in Belle Vernon, PA.
This is an example of an intelligent object recognition system. It broadcasts pixel area. I assembled a robot turret with a camera from a kit, and used machine vision software. Many applications
On the Monongahela River. This was during a summer festival.
I always wanted to get a closer look at the plants growing atop this old bridge pylon. Turned out to be quite the garden. Infrastructure inspection in hard-to-reach places is a good application of drones. This is located in Coal Center, PA.
Time-lapse of morning test flight from my backyard. This is shot with a DJI Phantom 3 Pro.
This was filmed on a nice spring day. I used a retro digital filter to give it a washed out look.
While there was a strike on campus, I took the opportunity to fly my drone between California and Newell, PA. The filter is not ideal, but detail is crisp.
This is with a Dromida Ominus, and one of my first high altitude flights with my trainer drone. I loved that I could crash and repair this drone. If you consider getting a drone, get ready for repairs, too. This is flown LOS. It looked like a dot in the sky. I am on the field towards the dotted line of trees. I fought the wind and ran the battery down with this flight.
This is what happens when the wind carries your cheap drone beyond line-of-sight and you intentionally bring it down. I was in the backyard and dropped it after it flew across the street. I fixed a motor and it worked fine. It took a couple of days to find it.
