LOCAL: I battled through an unknown illness all last week. I’m sorry to report that it lost, but its damage is still being felt today a week later. In lighter news, I had a standard 55-year-old birthday involving underwear, clearance white vanilla single-layer birthday cake with piped pastel icing balloons on it, “Hapy Birthday”, and an early bedtime.

I have not worked on the process document again. There is a lot of chaos in the house right now due to the move, and lack of clarity on a closing date until the appraiser gives the glow up the bank needs to love my house debt is really stretching my socks the wrong way. We need a move-out date, a contract, not a promise. The appraiser is like a corporate psychologist that introduces new ways for the bank to cope with the stress of revenue. You would think it was a good thing.

Both my son and I have cars in the shop. Our routines are disrupted. I spend time walking and waiting for rides I missed the Picklesburg festival downtown, for example, as a way to manage risk of damage to a rental car. Space cushions got no love for me. No love. I miss family bike rides. We’ve gone over a month without riding together, and it was something we did at least once a week for the last couple of years. I miss biking the rail trails.

DRONE: I flew four times last week at sunset. I wanted to capture the greasy film laying waste to everyone’s sinuses. The sun looked like a fluorescent marker, a funky glowing stage light. We had Codes Orange, Red, and Purple. Purple was awful. My vision was marred by the soot. I wore a mask. It had a taste, hard to describe. Pollutants that fall onto the ground and trees for years go airborne in a forest fire. Mattes of underbrush and unburnt fungus go airborne. I slept with a window open and woke up with a headache and sore throat.

SCIENCE: Creative Commons search. CC Search Portal. Why everyone has diarrhea? That is your Quest.

Art: I am working on some sort of instinct. I wanted to paint this, but I do not know why. It probably has something to do with the movie to Belle Vernon.
