LOCAL: I went on vacation with the fam. We travelled to the coast and managed to get into the ocean for a spell. We ate diner fare, went body surfing, went sight-seeing. We needed another week there. I finally got my car back from the shop! I spent the money which I had earned working on the mural production on car repairs. Painting continues.

DRONE: I flew at a couple of places in Rehoboth Beach. The first flight was at a beach parking lot next to some sizeable and anchored grassy dunes and an old WWII observation tower now being used as a fire tower. The wind was blowing at about 20 mph. The beach beyond the dunes was crowded. Rehoboth Beach was crazy crowded.

The second location with the Avata 2 was at Indian River inlet to the south on the way to Bethany Bay down Coastal Hwy 1. I flew by the suspension bridge. We never wanted to leave the coast, and this morning was one of the reasons. I especially enjoyed the pine-needle carpet and quiet stroll along Assawoman Canal north of Bethany Bay, belly full of continental breakfast. There is a self-serve kayak rental kiosk there. I wish I had had the time. I spotted all sorts of critters on the trail at 7 am: fox, squirrel, crabs, a blue heron, rabbits.

You might be looking at my flights and wonder why I don’t fly way out over water. Pepperidge Farms remembers.

SCIENCE: Leaving the deep read from last week, adding one more. Cyclic ladder operators and hidden Weyl-Heisenberg structure in a Floquet system. Okay, that’s hard. The Riemann Hypothesis manifested in dynamical quantum phase transitions | Nature Communications. Yikes!

Art: I did a portrait freehand as a color study for hibiscus in the shade of a reedy ditch, my next painting. I have time for one more before the move. I should probably try to sell my paintings. It’s been said. I need the space they occupy in my mind. I am not presenting my best photos because I want to develop a few into paintings.

Speaking of Charles Forte, the morning after a tornado watch had been issued for the area, I was strolling Gordon’s Pond by the breakers when I saw a mussel shell come rolling in with the surf. It had a bright spot of yellow on it. I was curious. I stopped and peered down closely at the black shell and the yellow spot. It was a three-striped potato beetle. It trudged up the beach away from the ocean. Beetle riding a mussel shell.
