LOCAL: So I registered for a community event in Belle Vernon Oct 10, 3 pm to 7 pm through the recreation commission. I will sell oil paintings and provide a drone demo. That’s a Saturday.

Science: The Nav Stokes is squarely in the spotlight. I have occasionally stumbled across incomplete models and eloquent approximations. A team was literally in the final phase of publishing work and completing their paper when AI scooped them up and finalized the work based on their data. It’s theft, and it’s disgusting. Good writers borrow, but great writers steal. It’s a matter of discretion. There is no discretion here. It’s bold kleptomania. It cost $15 million to “solve” the problem. They jury is still out. It’s not like the CEOs of these AI companies know how to prove the models are correct. They need smart humans.

Sam Altman recently quoted as promising a future where people can ‘buy intelligence’ in a metered market. No money, no brain. His entire existence is stealing things so you can pay him. Meanwhile all the books are being shredded and dissolved in acid. That is about as dystopian as it gets. It’s promising a New Dark Age. I’d prefer a New Drake Age, but you know it’s the same old Drake. Needless to say, Anthropic and Open AI are fighting over Nav Stokes in battle of models between Euclidean space and Euler parameterization. My money is on Euler and Anthropic. I have occasionally run across eloquent forms of the Nav Stokes, and I keep it in my mind when flying drones because of the behavior of a drone in a cramped enclosure or near a flat surface. I once attended a lecture of a hypersonic airflow scientist at the NASEM after invited due to my interest in autonomous space flight and use of Lagrangian points in navigating the solar system. My idea was to use the points to store spent rocket bodies and supplies. They are easy to locate, and they are stable in spacetime. I also looked to replicate the Apollo semi-autonomous landing system used to accomplish the initial moon landing, but embedding it as an IoT with a C&C structure that never allowed the craft to supersede human command. Years ago. Now I paint.

Drone: I flew none. I have been working on the house all day every day except for Labor Day. I went biking on the Great Allegheny Pass instead.
